Overview
Palmyra Health Care is a home where up to 55 Elders can live. Twenty additional Friends who live with Mental Retardation can reside on the New Dawn Unit, an ICF/MR unit. We are located 10 miles outside of Clarksville, Tn. We serve younger and older adults living with dementia, head injuries, mental retardation and developmentally disabled, mentally ill, and those requiring hospice care.
Specialized Clinical Services
24 hour nursing care, contracted on site dental x-ray and podiatry services, Restorative therapy, wound care, counseling and psychiatric medication monitoring. In house laundry, housekeeping, beautician and barber, activities, families welcome to dine with loved ones at any meal, open visiting hours, and structured smoking breaks for our residents. It’s Never 2 Late Computer Technology system and the Wii is available for use by our Elders.
Community Involvement Ongoing
Involvement with local churches and schools, Stewart and Houston County Geriatric Council, Montgomery County Geriatric Council, Eden Alternative and Ombudsman support, Tennessee Health Care Association and American Health Care Association.
Rehabilitation
Palmyra Health Care specializes in providing short-term rehab services for physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Rehabilitation is contracted through Rehab Care.

Medicare, Medicaid, Tenncare, Amerigroup, Americhoice contracts, Hospice Contracts, and Private pay.

Each care plan is individualized according to the residents past life, present needs, and goals. At Palmyra Health Care, we are committed to the Eden Alternative journey and Culture Change methodology. Our Eden Journey provides a Human Habitat where people enjoy freedom of spirit and opportunities to grow and flourish. We have activity programs that take Elders into the community for shopping, bowling or to dinner and a movie once a month.
