Innovative Approaches to Care
Douglas Health & Rehab Center is a Registered Eden Alternative Home and believes that by addressing the plagues of Loneliness, Boredom, and Helplessness we may alleviate, the need for extensive amounts of medication and illnesses associated with these concerns of our Elders.
Elders at Douglas also enjoy the use of the Wii and the It’s Never 2 Late computer technology system where they can email friends and family and enjoy many different computerized games and activities.
Overview
Douglas Health & Rehab Center is a Home where up to 72 Elders live. It is located in Milan, Tennessee at: 2084 West Main St. We are just minutes away from Milan General Hospital. Our Neighbors range in age from 34 to 90 years young. Respite services,
Hospice Services, Therapy Services, Counseling Services and Nursing Services are provided for our Elders who live at their home. Also, ask us about our Adult Day Program.
Specialized Clinical Services
We offer 24 Hour Nursing Care that includes Intravenous Therapy,
Nutritional Enhancement, Wound Care, Restorative Care, Medication Management for Cognitive Impairment, Portable X-Ray, Visiting Podiatrist, Visiting Dental and Mood Enhancement.
We offer transportation to special events in the community, Transportation not provided by other services to Doctor visits, Laundry and Housekeeping Services, Beauty and Barber Services and we encourage family members to eat meals with our Elders. We also invite our Families to participate in specialized care planning for our Elders.
Accepted Payor Sources
Medicaid, Medicare, Private Pay, Private Insurances, Hospice Contracts, and TennCare Waiver.
Community Involvement
Douglas has a volunteer team of approximately 50 people ranging in age from 6 months to 75 years young. We participate in the Milan Christmas Parade annually, Relay for Life, Alzheimer’s Memory Walk and other charitable events. We are a sponsor for Relay for Life, also. We belong to the Tennessee Eden Alternative Coalition which promotes Culture Change in healthcare. We also belong to both the Tennessee Healthcare Association and the American Healthcare Association.
